El Costumbre

Lorenzo Armendariz arrived more than thirty years ago to Tenejapa, a Mayan community in the highlands of Chiapas. He gradually became involved in the ritual and festive life of this community and has since been conducting a photographic documentation of the ceremonies and the most characters of Tenejapa: musicians, mayordomos, ensigns and shamans.
